The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues infrastructure renovation process, within the frames of which 225 new vehicles have been added to the police car fleet, including 175 “Skoda” sedans and 50 Kia Niro hybrid vehicles, none of which are intended for the ministry officials.
The handover event was held in Tbilisi, near the administrative building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The event was attended by Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs - Vladimer Bortsvadze and Giorgi Butkhuzi, as well as Director of the Patrol Police Department Vazha Siradze.
The new vehicles were handed over to police units in Tbilisi and the regions, as well as to the Patrol Police Department. Upgrading the fleet of patrol vehicles will facilitate timely and effective response of patrol inspectors to the crime, as well as crime prevention.
The purpose of police infrastructure renovation is to increase the efficiency of police activities and improve the working conditions of the officers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs updates its car fleet on the regular basis and will continue the implementation of police renovation and equipment projects to further upgrade the agency’s infrastructure.
